Gail Edmonds Artist

Gail is an accomplished Sydney artist, who has been painting for over 20 years from her Sydney studio and weekly art group in Castle Hill. Gail's portfolio is as eclectic as her art and its themes; from semi-abstract works using bold colours to monocramanic arid landscapes, to bright African women and studies of endangered primates. Industrial themes and figurative work are some of Gail's most coveted work which have won her numerous prizes and accolades.
Gail is especially inspired by the colours, textures and atmosphere of the arid landscape in Australia as well as the industrial; both symbols of hope and hopelessness; both interpreted in terms of beauty and austerity. Gail also finds inspiration in the abstract, her works display a density of colour and emotional fluidity.

The Talented Jane Donaldson

As a self taught artist, the foremost influence Jane Donaldson's work is a love of colour.  She uses a simplistic style to paint whimsical observations of human behaviour, relationships with the self and others and the place we call home.
Most of Jane's paintings draw inspiration from events or musings about he own life and become autobiographical and introspective tales enriched by her imagination and dreams.

MINKY GRANT is influenced by the beauty of nature that surrounds her Pymble home and inspires her to create artworks in jewellery-printmaking, and miniature painting.

All her works show a whimsical sense of humour which delights in giving everyday events a humorous twist. Minky's abundant garden houses many of the little creatures that make their way into her artworks, with insects being of special interest.

Minky's attention to detail. Love of colour and delight in nature combined with her quirky sense of fun has led to her work being held in national and international collections.

Melanie Miller Hearts Naromine Art Show

A soul born of Africa, now domiciled in Australia, together with use of vibrant colour, varied textures and mixed media juxtapose to present a unique talent, that is, Melanie Miller. In your face, powerful, abstract images encapsulate her fresh and unusual Afro – Australasian perspective of her environment.

Melanie’s motivations are influenced by her youth, living on the shores of the Indian Ocean watching the African sun casting its long shadows using the ocean as a canvas. Influences and background are a large part of what makes Melanie’s work exceptional. It is the tapestry of Egypt in her mother, Russian in her father and a youth at one with sea and sky in Muizenberg Cape Town that is woven into her work.

Melanie Miller is a South African born artist now living in Sydney. She studied at the Cape Town Technical College obtaining a diploma in Art.

After some four years of painting on fabric Melanie decided that she wanted to change to the medium of canvas, where she felt immediately at home.  She found that she was able to express herself more freely and creating expressionistic, colourful works of art, exploring the niche field of textures and three dimensional imagery, including interweaving of geometrical reflective shadows.

By using bright colours, she has managed to highlight and explore chosen areas of the canvas keeping the balance in background mode, resulting in a vibrant abstract journey into her past or even present thinking.

Lorraine Folb Artist

Lorraine was born in Cape Town, South Africa and lived in Durban and Johannesburg. Her artistic flair was expressed in many forms before consolidating into its current form of abstract multi-media.

Lorraine is strongly influenced by her upbringing and early experiences in Africa. She has long identified with the warm tones and colours of Africa. Lorraine values the freedom of expression that is so basic to Africa and she brings to her work a strong sense of culture and warmth. Since immigrating to Australia, she has travelled widely, absorbing the drama of the outback, the sheer beauty of the coastal areas and the strength of community in the cities.

Her intuitive style has incorporated these elements and she delivers a freshness of style and quality. She is fascinated with unconventional materials and this compliments the warm and earthy tones that are evident in her work. http://lorrainefolb.com/

Ray Firth Exhibiting with Iheartart in August!

Some beautiful words from Artist Ray Firth Explaining his work.........

"It is a marvel  that we are here among the beautiful things at all; the rocks, the wind and the cryptic stars.

We seem to be both comforted and threatened in this garden of Eden, gently soothed and  encouraged by an indulgent friend, while the shadow of the same now indifferent predator, moves implacably among the fabric of moments.

We have been invited to the celebration of life and we attend not only at our immense pleasure, but we also attend at our peril.

There seems little point in lodging a complaint with our host about the bitter-sweet nature of this intoxicating  invitation.

It is said that the God of moments both gives capriciously and takes away just as indifferently.

We are the masters of our destiny while visiting the beautiful garden, and accepting the boundaries of beauty might well be the most complete insight we have come here to enjoy.
My  paintings explore the personality of our ambiguous host. They trace the nature of the celebrations and the responses we make to this 'big day out'.

I love this beautiful garden, and I am intoxicated by my unexpected invitation.

These paintings are, in a way, a fragmented map of my journey in search of the numinous, and a celebration of our good luck. It is also, a map of the learning to accept  pleasure in our mixed fortune." Ray Firth
